Tbf hes not wrong 🙂 there are very many who really shouldn’t be in College and instead be out in the world breaking things and finding new ways to experience the World.
You know! Real world education, not taking up Uni places from the more deserved, because ! Well that’s what you do now…..
Their are many who should be trying jobs, they might not normally try, falling, failing, finding .
Like log running 🙂 learn a skill , live a little and then maybe start, something new. Who even new that was a proper job… #thinkingoutsidethebox
It’s never too late to go and study, later. Very many have and actually done very well later in life…
Not everyone is suited to it, or mature enough, but it is still expected to go and have the experience . Whatever that means , party , get laid, do drugs, holiday?? What , exactly!
Or maybe just get out there and get on with the fullness of life….
All the time you are keeping your kids at home until they are 30, learning no actual life skills, including cooking, or laundry, living in a resoonsible world where interaction with others is part of learning, managing money etc .
You know! The its ok! love i’ll do that for you, here take all my pension , no need to contribute to the house , go out and enjoy yourself , mantra…
Ye! ye! I hear ye, poor students boo hoo. NOT! Lifes not pretty all the time , folks! Sometimes we need to learn how tobstand up for ourselves and not have mammy apply for that job, on your behalf or talk to your boss when you screw up….
I don’t think he was right, in some of what’s reported and it brings me back to the teachers, who left their zoom call on and got caught giving out privately, to each other about their students, but he’s not far off the mark either .
Should he be free to speak what he feels , as long as hes getting the job done ?
He did fine for 26 yrs , so he was doing something right !
Then a pandemic broke out and he had to readjust, like everyone else.
Maybe, just maybe, he was struggling too……or Maybe, he just had enough…..either way this is not a story that warrants paper and maybe someone should have asked him, if all was ok! Maybe he needed more help, than he got and deserved for his tenure and service, at the least.. what about his mental health, the students will be fine , knocks are normal, teach them…
